I have a scenario where one anesthesiologist is placing the probe and acquiring images. The second anesthesiologist will interpret and report. Is it possible for me to bill the 93313 for the first doctor and a 93314 for the second? I've read a couple things that said I could if it was an anesthesiologist and a cardiologist, but I want to make sure if they were two anesthesiologists. My hang up is with the 'image acquisition.' In the CPT manual it is under the 93314 code and not the 93313.

Anyone else with this issue? And if so, how do you code it?

Thanks in advance.

If they are both in the same group billing under the same Tax ID# they are considered 1 provider, so both parts were provided by "one person" and should not be split up.

Follow up question - the second anesthesiologist is actually not interpreting the report until several days after. I would still only bill as if one anesthesiologist is doing the TEE?

Thanks for your input - always nice to get someone else's thoughts.
