Would this be 52601 or 52648?

A 26-French resectoscope was inserted via the urethra without difficulty under direct vision using an obturator. A complete cystoscopy was performed using 30 degree lens.

The prostate had bilateral hypertrophy and a high riding bladder neck. No significant median lobe. The prostatic urethra was was resected circumferentially to create a wide open channel. These were sent to pathology as prostate chips. We then utilized greenlight laser PVP to vaporize the apical tissue near and to obtain hemostasis. The external sphincter was noted to be intact. The resectoscope was removed. A 22F 3-way Foley was placed. CBI was started. The patient was extubated and transferred to the postanesthesia care unit in stable condition.

Thank you!

I'd query the doc, present both codes. Ask which one he/she is doing, this part here (and to obtain hemostasis). Leads me to think he's just cleaning up his/her work from the 52601 TURP. Which would be inclusive.

Plus CPT 52601 trumps the 52648 per CCI edit. Leading to select CPT 52601 based on this information.
