can someone explain what the (M8000/1) that is listed after Tumor in the Cpt index is?

Those are morphology codes and are used by tumor registry personnel when they enter the tumor information. As a coder you do not assign these codes.

Thank you for your reply. I knew they were not used in coding, but wasn't sure why they were there.
