My provider used diagnosis codes R76.11 & R76.12 together. Patient did have a positive Quantiferon TB results on the date of service.
I know an "Excludes 1" exist for both of these diagnosis codes. I query'd the provider to remove one of the diagnosis codes, but received this response,
"The patient did have a positive quantiferon test, and to my knowledge did not have a positive PPD, both diagnosis codes are necessary." Please advise on which one should be removed.
