Help!! I'm trying to figure out the appropriate code for SurePath. We are an Independent Lab and currently we code for Thin Prep's using 88142. However, we are now using SurePath, which is compatible to the Thin Prep. Would we still use the 88142 to code for the SurePath? Any ideas????

I hope you received an answer to your question.
If not maybe i can help - the 88142 has nothing to do with the name on the pap container (wether it be Suripath or Thinprep. the 88142 is for a diagnostic pap. diagnostic meaning the patient has had a previous abnormal. always remember to ask yourself - what did you do and why did you do it? this helped me in learning to code paps.
be groovy!
