I am needing assistance with the facility coding for the percutaneous Tenjet procedure since there is only one code for the abductors and it is an open procedure. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Procedure Note’

Side(s) Treated: Right

Anesthesia: Moderate sedation with CRNA

The patient provided consent for the procedure. They were positioned in the lateral recumbent position with the affected side facing upward. The skin was prepped and draped accordingly.

Gluteus minimus tenotomy:
The patient was consented, positioned, prepped, and draped. Ultrasound guidance was utilized to locate the gluteus minimus tendon in both short and long axis views at its insertion on the anterior facet of the trochanter. Local anesthetic was administered using a small gauge needle to anesthetize the skin and tissues down to the tendon. An incision was made with an 11-blade, and the Hydrocision Tenjet tenotomy probe was carefully advanced to the tendon under ultrasound guidance. The probe was activated and moved back and forth over the degenerative areas of the tendon. After several minutes of activation, the probe was removed, resulting in an improved homogeneous appearance of the tendon. Additional medication was injected via a small gauge needle.

Gluteus medius tenotomy:
Similarly, the patient consented, was positioned, prepped, and draped. Ultrasound was used to identify the gluteus medius tendon in short and long axis views at its insertion on the lateral facet of the trochanter. Local anesthetic was administered to the skin and tissues down to the tendon. An incision was made, and the Hydrocision Tenjet tenotomy probe was advanced to the tendon under ultrasound guidance. The probe was activated and moved over the degenerative areas of the tendon. After several minutes, the probe was removed, resulting in an improved homogeneous appearance of the tendon.

The medications utilized included a combination of local anesthetics and/or steroids as documented in ASC records
