When billing a telehealth visit, there is a distant site (where the physician is located) and the originating site (where the patient is). Does anyone know the appropriate POS that should be billed on the provider claim (the distant site)? Is it appropriate to bill the POS of the physician or do you bill the POS based on where the patient is located?

Same question for the originating site charge for the Facility when billing
G3014. I found contradicting information on this.

Thank you!

I am looking for information regarding POS for the Distant Site provider. Did you ever obtain an answer to this question? I can't find anything documented about their POS.
Thank you!

The place of service should be the patient's location at the originating site. Some of the MLN Matters articles on telehealth do address this, though not in much detail. But basically, if you don't use the patient's location, some of the CPT codes for the telehealth services will edit for a place of service not compatible with the code. Hope this helps some.
