We have a new ortho clinic opening and they use Synvisc. I know the 1 mg dose is J7325, but the hospital is talking about "kits". Is anyone familiar with the use and billing of Synvisc? Any info would be greatly appreciated, including reimbursement.

Thanks!

Check with your insurance carriers. To my knowledge the only insurance paying for "kits" is TriCare. From what I've researched on these kits they tell you to bill an unlisted drug code and the only actual billable item is the Synvisc (or whatever drug is being used). The other items are gloves, iodine wipes, lidocaine or Marcaine which are not separately covered.
