One of our radiology nurses asked if they could report the exchange of a nephrostomy tube for the internal ureteral stent (using existing guidewire) and/or the exchange of a nephrouretal stent with an ureteral stent.
My expertise does not lie with either rad or urology, but from what I've read, you have to replace the same tubes/stents in order to report. Any idea how I would code these two scenarios? Thanks a million. Pam Brooks
