Good afternoon,
I was looking for some coding help on a procedure my physician did on a patient. The patient is s/p THR but experienced a complication of the wound site. Patient had transdermal cavitation in the middle wound with three separate smaller excoriation with visible fluid tunneling.
The physician went back in a month later and performed a wound exploration with lavage debridement. There was partial excision of the wound with distance of 15cm and layered closure. I have submitted the surgery a few times and another CPT code then what I have used is being recommended but they will not indicate what they recommend. Any suggestions?
