Is it possible for a surgeon (not Radiologist) to bill for intra op fluro along with a surgical procedure in a hospital setting?
Can the surgeon (not Radiologist) bill for a post op fluro after scaphoid fx to check the placement ?

Our doctors use the mini C-arm intraoperatively all the time. We bill out 76000/26 for the surgeon's use/reading of the C-arm. Be sure to check your CCI edits for use with each procedure.
Hope this helps!

and make sure the doctor is supporting the reading of the x-ray which is what he is reporting. There are some guidelines that he needs to follow in order to be paid for reporting this service.

My simply stating in the op note that the films were done and "alignment was good" will not support the interpretation of the films.
