Henry Ford Health System in Detroit is hiring for a Supervisor over a team of Professional Procedural Coders.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Associates Degree (Business Administration or related field) or equivalent combination of at least 5 years financial and medical billing/coding experience, including 1 year lead role or supervisory experience can be considered in place of degree. Bachelors Degree (Business or Healthcare Administration or related field), preferred. Additional Specialty Certification, preferred.
With one of the two degrees previously mentioned, three years financial, medical billing or coding experience with 1 year in a lead role or supervisory experience, required.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
At least one of the following certifications is required: CPC, CCS, CCP, CCA, RHIT or RHIA.
Ability to travel to all business units within Henry Ford Health System.
Highly developed communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with staff.
Analytical ability necessary to conduct basic research, analyzes and interprets data, evaluate processes and propose improvements.
Ability to supervise, coordinate, and lead simultaneously.
Ability to estimate time frames and meet projected deadlines.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to provide effective leadership to departmental personnel and to develop and maintain a wide variety of internal and external cooperative working relationships.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to understand and lead change.
High energy, goal oriented, exceptional interpersonal skills, change management and political skill.
