A patient was in the ER and was seen by a resident. The resident called our physician who gave authorization over the phone for a procedure to be done. Our physician checked on the patient after the procedure was complete to make sure it was done correctly. He was in the hospital at the time of the procedure, just not directly supervising while the resident performed the procedure. Would this be billed incident-to under our doc?
