Looking for some insight here. My pain management physician has been sold on a sudoscan by a sales rep. To my understanding, a physical therapist will be on sight doing these and EMG/NCS and doing the interpretations as well. My concern is that my physician has no medical necessity for performing these tests (in most cases) as he is spine pain only. We all know that with no medical necessity, he will not get paid, or will not get to keep the money he will get paid. After receiving a disturbing email from the office manager telling me what I WILL bill and WILL get paid on (or else), I thought I would reach out and see if anyone had some insight on how to handle this situation. I printed off an LCD for him to read but was informed that it is my job to be sure he is compliant.
