I am not familiar with substance abuse coding and need some input from some expert coders or guidance to good resources.
When billing H0010 for Non-Hospital Medical Detoxification can you also bill for the assessment by the prescriber? Medicaid 8A says the physician conducts an assessment within 24 hours of admission. Is the assessment part of the admission or can it be billed separately? If so, would you use 90792 for the assessment?
