Wiki Stress Echo - physician performed

Our physician performed a stress echocardiogram in the outpatient setting. Echo looked at both atriums, both ventricles and all valves using 2D, M mode, color and spectral doppler. We are confused on how to bill this. Option 1:

We are new cardiology coders and any help would be appreciated!!! If you have any suggestions of places we can go to do further research, we would appreciate that as well!

Hi there,

Does your physician also include the aorta and pericardium in the report? If not then this is not a complete echo. In an outpatient setting, do you mean in the hospital?

If both answers are yes, 93350-26, 93016 and 93018.

He does mention the aorta, but doesnt give any findings regarding the pericardium. Our procedure reads are all done in an outpatient setting, as our clinic is connected to the hospital, and our "read room" is considered an outpatient setting.
