We have a pt. that was diagnosed with Ascending aortic aneurysm w/acute aortic dissection and tamponade. My question is how do I show the pt is status post-aortic replacement surgery with a hemiarch reconstruction 28 mm graft. I read a aortic hemi-arch replacement is surgery where a smaller portion of the aortic arch is removed and replaced with a Dacron graft. Can I use V43.3 secondary to 441.2? For example 441.2,V43.3,423.3,401.9.

DISCHARGE DIAGNOSES:
1. Ascending aortic aneurysm with acute aortic dissection and tamponade,
status post emergent repair of type A dissection and ascending aortic
replacement surgery on ........with a hemiarch reconstruction 28
mm graft by
2. Normal biventricular systolic function on intraoperative
echocardiogram.
3. Hypertension history, poorly controlled, much better in hospital.
4. Postoperative anemia secondary to blood loss, improved.
5. Postoperative leukocytosis, improved.
6. Stable renal insufficiency.
7. Right arm superficial thrombophlebitis, improved with warm compresses.
8. Stable sinus rhythm.
