Medical report says that aluminium splint applied by nurse to thumb and NV intact is checked by ERMD, are we supposed to bill for splint application. If yes, do we need to bill for short arm or finger splint?
I would bill for splint application only if it is custom. An aluminum finger splint would generally be considered prefabricated and a supply L code would be charged instead of a CPT code for splint application.
