Wiki Spine surgery denials

Is anyone else getting denials when billing 63056 and 22630? Our surgeons specifically document that they are doing the decompression on the nerve root and not just to prepare the interspace for the cage and we are still getting denials as inclusive, even if we submit the notes.

Any ideas on sources to back us up?

63056 reads....WITH decompression of ....
22630 reads...OTHER THAN for decompression....so it's one or the other not both, unless I'm misunderstanding your note.

are you putting a modifier 59 on both codes? Per CCI edits, both need a 59.
