Wiki Spinal Surgery -mid-line incision

The doctor did a posterior mid-line incision to perform spinal surgery and in the body of the op report he states "we pedicled the L4 and identified the exiting L4 nerve root." Anyone know what the term pedicled means? I'd appreciate any responses.

Were pedicle screws used? Have never heard that term specifically when using pedicle screws....

No hardware was used in the procedure.

I thought that as well but no such term exists that I can find, so its a question mark.

There is another question regarding the procedures performed. The doctor makes a posterior midline incision to the lumbar spine and does a "far lateral intraforaminal discectomy and decompression at left L4-L5.

The DX is 722.10

I'm leaning towards 63030.
