Wiki Spinal levels

Ok this may be a really silly question, but what is considered a spinal level?
Is it L4-L5?
or is it just L4?
What about S1-S3 is that all one level?
I am entering Medial Branch blocks and the Dr is using L5-S1, and S1-S3.
So is that two levels: 64493,64494?
Please help clarify!!

Level is another word for segment. The segment is the individual vertebrae while the interspace is the intervertebral space or the space between two segments.
