I am looking for the diagnosis code. The physician states in the record, "I think she has a smoldering thyroiditis that, eventually, will render her hypothyroid." First, I understand that this suspected in a professional setting; therefore, I could not code it; but, if I could, if it was a "smoldering thyroiditis" what would be the correct diagnosis code? I find:
Multiple myeloma and immunoproliferative neoplasms 203- >
?A bone marrow-based plasma cell neoplasm characterized by a serum monoclonal protein and skeletal destruction with osteolytic lesions, pathological fractures, bone pain, hypercalcemia, and anemia. Clinical variants include non-secretory myeloma, smoldering myeloma, indolent myeloma, and plasma cell leukemia. (who, 2001)
Would I then use 203.00?
