I work for a billing company who's biggest client deals primarily with Bariatric surgeries. This company also has individual companies that do sleep studies, x-rays, and heart stress tests (3 different companies). My boss has us billing these three different companies with the rendering provider as the company name and npi. I have told her we cannot do that and that the rendering provider needs to be a physician, radiologist, etc. The insurance companies are now kicking back our claims stating they are looping. My boss refuses to listen to my reasoning and states its personal. She wants something in writing stating that block #31 on the 1500 needs to be a person. I have gone to CMS web-site and pulled up regulations for her. She claims that we don't fall under Medicare/Medicaid guidelines since we only deal with insurance and not Medicare. Can you please help me so that I can put this to rest once and for all.
