Wiki Sleep Study Billing Question

Hello,

We are a Neurology Practice who performs Sleep Studies in our office. The studies are interpretated by a contracted Sleep Medicine Physician who resides in another state. We submit the global charge since it is done in our office and the report is interpreted by a contracted Provider. One of our Neurologists wants to co-sign the sleep studies and bill under him instead of billing under the interpreting provider.
I am certain we cannot do this. The charges need to be submitted under the interpreting Provider only, correct?

has the provider taken the appropriate training to interpret the sleep study?

if not then it should remain the same. I would also speak with my vendor and find out their thoughts on this change. It may be prohibitive of the contract you have with them to provide the service.
