Please help, I am helping out a co-worker who bills for LCSW. She has a doctor who is sending her a brother and sister who she wants counseled together. The Question is--can you bill for individual or together and what codes would you use? Thanks for your help.
 
Based on review of code descriptions, I believe you would need to bill each child individually. They wouldn't fall under the group therapy code because generally this would be for 6 or more patients in the group. They wouldn't fall under the family psychotherapy either because no other family members will be present; it sounds like each child is being seen for his/her own issues.
