Wiki Shoulder Surgery-Op report procedure

Op report procedure is listed.....Shoulder arthroscopy, extensive intra-articular debridement, biceps tenotomy, lysis of adhesions, subacromial decompression and rotator cuff repair.

Dr gave me codes.....29823, 23405, 29825. 29826, 29827

What order would you put these codes in and what modifiers would you use??

I would consider using an unlisted procedure in lieu of the 23405 - unless your doctor truly did an open biceps tenotomy and not arthroscopically.

If all done arthroscopically:
29827
29999=23405
29823 -59
29826

The 29825 might be coded with a modifier as well, but the documentation would have to show it wasn't in the same area as the extensive debridement (29823) which would be difficult to do. Otherwise, it is considered inclusive to the 29823.

If the open biceps tentomoy was performed:
