When an arthroscopic RCR (29827) is performed (subscap tear), when is it appropriate to unbundle a debridement (29822) with 59 or X modifer? In this case, anterior labrum was frayed and debrided back to a stable border and an acromioplasty was performed (29826).

Any thoughts/info would be appreciated.

It would only be appropriate to unbundle if debridement was done on opposite shoulder.

I am not aware of any payor who splits the shoulder into separate compartments.
