I've seen some similar threads on related topics, but thought my scenario was slightly different so I wanted to throw it out to the group.
I'm working out of a behavioral health agency that has provided psychotherapy under "Incident to" with our psychiatrist providing supervision. Our therapists are not individually recognized Medicare providers. Our psychiatrist is leaving and therefore we will no longer be able to provide psychotherapy under "Incident to." Several consumers have asked if they can continue seeing therapists on a cash/private pay basis and not bill Medicare. Should this be okay, since the therapists in question are not individually contracted with Medicare? TIA for any assistance.
