Is secondary one year from the date of service or from date paid by primary? I always thought that it was one year and now I getting different information. I also understand it depends on the payer and specialty. I just want to make sure I am going by correct dates.

The timely date should be from the date the primary paid.

The length of time will vary based on the payer.
