Hi,

I need help finding a code for a routine mamm via an Ultrasound.The patient is mentally challanged, there could not with stand a mammogran.

I need a DX code, not the V76.12

if it is screening you must use the screening V code you can use the appropriate mental disorder as a secondary

What code would that be? I tryed mental retardation, but that does not pass med nec? Doesnt the dx code need to be primary ...because the u/s is dx?

The U/S is not diagnostic if it is being performed for screening purposes.
