We have a radiology group practice that deals with many pediatric patients with problems such as scoliosis. They usually do the entire spine but do not document all areas of the spine except the thoracolumbar. Many times the cervical cannot be visualized clearly as the chin obliterates that area. In order to bill the 72010 does each area need to be interpreted or is the statement "no vertebral abnormalities can be seen" or "entire spine was imaged" sufficient in order to bill that CPT code?
