Wiki Same specialty, same CPT, different diagnosis

I work in denial management and am wondering if 2 providers of the same specialty under the same tax ID can see an inpatient on the same day when they see patient for 2 separate diagnoses? Can both bill? Or would one of them need a modifier? Thanks for any help!!

You cannot bill separately but I believe the documentation can be combined to bill a higher level of service if supported.
If I'm wrong somebody please lmk.
