Pt has a double lumen picc. Avtivase was given in 2 separate bags, one in each line at the exact time for 38min. How do I bill for that? 96368 clearly states new drug/substance. Do I just bill 96365?

Thanks,

Lydia

The concurrent descrition refers to 2 or more DIFFERENT medications being administered in the same site. Adminstering the same medication throws out the concurrent code. Refer to the hierarchy before choosing the correct code. Make sure there was not any chemotherapy medications given that would trump the non-chemo. med.
