I am going to be starting a new position remotely coding same day surgeries this week. Does anyone have any suggestions for reference materials that might help give me guidance and tips for coding for SDS? This will be my first time coding in that particular arena.

Medicare Code Manager will help you figure out what the global periods are, which will help you when it comes to what modifer to use. 25 modifier for 0-10 day global and 57 for 90 day global (to be used on the e&m code only). Also, some of the commercial insurances use mckesssion code edits that will be helpful. You can find them on the web sites.
