Wiki Rotator cuff repair question

When is it approprioate to use the 23420 vs 23412 - the surgery that i am trying to code it for a chronic rotator cuff repair with retraction rt shoulder with ac joint arthrosis.

the dr did a 1. rt shoulder rotator cuff repair chronic with acromioplasty & 2. resection of the distal clavical.

any help would be greatly appreciuated

Per CPT Assistant:

23420 would be for repair of all three major muscle/tendons of the shoulder cuff

23412 woud be for repair of 1 or 2 tendons of the shoulder cuff
