This is related to the whole "double dipping" issue. I know the HPI components can be counted as ROS, but what if the only information provided is directly related to only one system-here is an example provided for psychiatrists in choosing an E/M due to the new behavioral health changes:
CC: pt presents for follow up on ADHD
HPI: grades are good, patient remains distracted throughout class
ROS: psych-denies depression or anxiety or sleep problems
In the above example credit was given for 1 ROS even though that is the only system referred for the visit. Thoughts?
