Wiki Robicsek weave for sternal dehiscence

Anyone out there know what CPT code I would use for the above procedure? The pt is s/p aortic root replacement and CABG and the patient tore thru his sternum and the dr had to do this weave .

Wouldn't that be just coded as sternal rewire--21750-78? Sorry to answer a question with a question!

Yes, I think it would just be 21750-78.

modifier. There is no additional
reimbursement for the Robicsek
weave, which involves an
additional parasternal, longitudinal
weaving wire (usually bilateral).

CPT 21627 - Sternal debridement would not be the appropriate CPT code in this instance.
