Wiki RN billin G0509 with AWV

Hello,
Does anyone know if an RN who conducts an Annual Wellness Visit and then spends the extra time to prepare the initial customized care plan (CCP), can bill the G0509 for the time to prepare the CCP?

Hi there, I assume you mean G0506 Comprehensive assessment of and care planning for patients requiring chronic care management services (list separately in addition to primary monthly care management service).

The RN can't bill for their services and while an AWV can be performed by an RN under direct supervision, G0506 should be performed by a physician or NPP. https://www.cms.gov/outreach-and-ed...nproducts/downloads/chroniccaremanagement.pdf
