Can anyone come up with a code or two for this procedure?
The surgeon was called into the operating room for blood per rectum following vaginal delivery and repair of a small fourth degree laceration. The OB doctor reopened his repair and it was noticed that a hemorrhoidal arterial and venous complex had a few spots that were bleeding. Electrocautery was used but because of the multiplicity and the dilatation of the hemorrhoidal vessel, the surgeon felt it would be best to oversew the bleeding vessel and did so with 2-0 chromic on an SH needle in a running locking fashion. A proctoscopy followed to examine for any other bleeding.
