Hello,
My otolaryngologist performed surgery on a patient that had a subarachnoid lumbar drain previously placed by a neurosurgeon. He was asked to "tie off" the drain while performing other surgery in the OR. This involved an incision into the skin, tieing off the drain, irrigation, and closure in two layers.
