2 months ago a patient had left hip fracture. The doctor to him to the OR for a hemiarthroplasty (27236). A month later the patient has a periprosthetic fracture around the internal prosthetic hip joint. The doctor takes patient back to the OR for "Revision of hip hemiarthroplasty w/ ORIF of femur. The doctor reduced the femur fractures with supercables. She also reamed the the femoral stem up from a size 7 to a size 21. But the size of the head was kept the same. I'm leaning toward 27236. but want to make sure this should not be a 27138, since it's a revision of a hemi arthroplasty (due to a fracture) not a total hip arthroplasty.
