I am not sure this is necessarily a revision laminectomy as the doctor calls it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

~~ The patient had a previous hemilaminotomy @ L4-5 with absent LT ligamentum flavum

Description of procedure in part:
Dissection was carried down to the top of L3 as well as the bottom of L1. At this time, I began performing my laminectomy. The bottom half of L3 was completely removed as well as all of L4 and L5 and the top half of S1. At this time centrally, it was decompressed with a Kerrison ronguer and then the decompression was extended laterally to watch for the size of pars and this was left in both sides. At this time, foramen was checked which showed that he had tight foraminal stenosis at both sides, especially on the right at L3-4 and L4-5 and L5-S1; these were decompressed with a Kerrison ronguer. At this time, the wound was copiously irrigated and then we began closing in layers over a drain and #1 Vicryl was used to close the fascia and 2-0 was used to close the skin.
