I was wondering if anyone had a clearing definition of place of service 34. Do we use this if we are not a hospice provider but the hospital has transitioned the patient's inpatient stay to hospice?
if you are seeing the patient that is a registered inpatient(regardless of the type of inpatient), then you use the POS of the inpatient. So if your patient is a registered hospice inpatient then wheter the visit takes place in the clinic, your office, or the hospice facility the POS is 34
