Good morning.
I have a question regarding an excision of a malignant lesion. An excision was performed on the first day, after review of lab stains the patient was brought back the next day for further excision. Would you just bill the total of of both excisions or bill each separatley with modifier 58?

I would code for the first day such as 11642 and then when the patient returned the next day I would then code appropriately for that seperate date of service i.e. 11643-58
