I have discovered that we have been charging O2 set up/instalation for IP with the wrong CPT. However, I can't find a code to assign it, all I've found is HCPCS codes for the supplies. Is there a CPT for oxygen set up for inpatient or observation, or is this a bundled service? Someone has previously asked this question with no response and I am getting no where with my search so I would appreciate even an example of what you do or don't do. Thank you!

As far as I know there is not a CPT/HCPCS code for any type of setup. Setup should be included in the overall departmental charges or accomodation room rate.

CPT codes are not use for hospital inpatient charges. This would be a facility charge and not a physician charge. This is an ICD-9 vol 3 code.
