Im having issues billing the 80305 on an inpatient claim (UB04). I am using a bill type of 112 and 113 with rev code 0300. What am I doing wrong?

Inpatient facility claims should not include CPT or HCPCS codes - just bill with the revenue code only. On facility claims billed on a UB form, CPT/HCPCS codes should only be included with outpatient bill types.

Agree with TrueBlue! Unless you specifically write into your provider contract that you can bill the urine drug screen as a physician service rather than a facility service, that UDS payment is wrapped into your residential treatment payment.

This is an area that the commercial payers are highly focused on right now, and there are multiple prospective audits occurring as this service in many cases has been billed as a physician service on a 1500 in addition to the residential treatment on the UB-04.
