Any help will be appreciated.
The surgeon performed an open whipple procedure with a removal of right pericolonic mass with partial coletomy for one.
When I read the Op. note, I queried the surgeon per he did not include if the colon was suture or any anastomoses and he stated he used a stapler to remove the nodule and thatat the stapler removes it and closes it, therefore suture not neede.
I have checked CPT book and cannot find any code for it, I will appreciate any help.
My first thought is the pericolonic mass is incidental, therefore included in the main procedure.
this is the portion of the Op note:
" He had 2 hard pericolonic nodules, one within the omentum and the 2nd on the surface of the transverse mesocolon, both were removed.
The second one was removed with a TA stapler, removing part of a side wall of the colon."
Thanks in advance for your help
