How do I code for the removal of an internal fixation device on the tibial if the surgeon was NOT the one who performed the original surgery - application of the device? This is for the removal of 7 pins and a plate from the tibia. 20680 (removal of implant, deep) does not pay enough for this procedure!

Unfortunately I think 20680 is the only code doc has to go with for this procedure.
Patient should have went back to the doc who performed original sx.
