Just wondering how to code a remote pacemaker check that was done before 90 days were completed from the last remote check, because of concern about cardiac irregularities. Would you use the 30 day remote CPT or is there a diagnosis code that explains the medical necessity (I cannot find it!)?

Thanks so much!

You won't be able to report the check. The remote codes are reported no more than once every 90 days. It may be clinically appropriate in some patients to perform remote interrogations more frequently but you can only report them every 90 days. Period.
