Can anyone help me with the POS for coding a remote device check 93296 and 93294 when the patient is a registered InPatient at the hospital?
we code these remote checks as POS 11 but are getting denials for overlapping claim from Medicare because the patient is in the hospital and they are stating the remote check should be coded as POS 21.
Any advice/rationale is appreciated

When patient is inpatient the place of service is 21 regardless of the actual services took place. Even if the patient was wheeled to ther PCP office for an office visit it will still be POS 21.
